CDT & ICD-10
Code Updates

The code on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature (CDT Code) is a set of standardized descriptions of dental procedures paired with a 5-character code. CDT Codes are a standard Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) code set, and the American Dental Association (ADA) releases annual updates for these codes. Carestream Dental software uses CDT Codes to provide a consistent description of the procedures performed at your office to insurers and other interested parties. For additional information, see the ADA CDT Code website.

CDT 2026 changes include: 31 new codes; 14 revisions; 6 deleted codes; and 9 editorial updates.

ICD-10 2026 changes include: 487 new codes, 28 code deletions, and 38 code revisions.

FAQs

WinOMS™ software is a server-based, oral surgery practice management system developed by Sensei. It was designed specifically for oral and maxillofacial surgery practices to manage clinical, scheduling, and administrative workflows.

Yes. If your oral surgery practice is already using WinOMS, you can continue to use the software while receiving support from Sensei. There is no immediate requirement to change systems.

No. WinOMS is a server-based (on-premise) system, meaning it relies on in-office servers and local hardware rather than cloud infrastructure.

WinOMS customers have access to ongoing software support by phone, chat or email and full access to an online resource library with product documentation and training materials.

Yes. Additional products are available for existing WinOMS customers to help optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and extend the value of your current system. These solutions are designed to work alongside WinOMS and support your practice’s operational needs.

WinOMS is not being replaced for existing users; however, Sensei Cloud is Sensei’s modern, cloud-based platform designed for the future of oral surgery practices. Sensei Cloud removes the need for on-site servers and supports more flexible, connected workflows.

Many oral surgery practices choose to move from server-based systems like WinOMS to Sensei Cloud to reduce reliance on local servers and hardware, improve system accessibility and security, simplify updates and maintenance, and support long-term growth and scalability. Migration is optional and can be planned over time.

Sensei Cloud is: cloud-based, with no on-site server required; accessible securely from multiple locations; automatically maintained and updated; and designed to support modern oral surgery workflows.

WinOMS is a traditional server-based system that requires in-office infrastructure and manual maintenance.

Yes. Sensei can help you review your current WinOMS environment, explore enhancement options, and plan a future transition to Sensei Cloud when your practice is ready.
